3Billion (쓰리빌리언), a South Korean AI genetic diagnostics firm, has secured a contract to perform whole-genome sequencing (WGS)-based newborn screening for 1,800 cases under the Korean Genome Newborn Screening (K-gNBS) program. The contract, valued at 900 million won (~$0.7M) with Seoul Asan Hospital, runs through December 2028. The agreement was disclosed in the company's semi-annual report, representing a concrete step beyond the pilot study it participated in last year, toward the expansion strategy outlined in its 2024 IPO prospectus.
