Ant Group’s embodied AI company Ant Lingbo signed a framework cooperation memorandum with the Arab Digital Economy Federation (AFDE) at a China-Ar Arab digital economy event, according to Leifeng. The parties plan to explore deployment and localization of Ant Lingbo’s robotics models and solutions in the UAE, other Gulf Cooperation Council markets, and the wider Middle East. Proposed work includes joint proofs of concept in hospitality, retail, logistics, industrial operations, and healthcare, as well as Arabic-language interaction and adaptation to local workflows. The memorandum also outlines possible collaboration on real-world training data, subject to applicable law and customer consent.
The agreement gives a Chinese embodied-model developer a potential route to customers beyond its domestic market. Ant Lingbo says its LingBot-VLA 2.0 model supported 17 robot brands and 20 hardware configurations during pretraining. That matters because a model intended for multiple robot types must also work across different operating environments; localization and real-world testing are part of proving that claim. The company reports existing applications in pharmacy picking, logistics, and industrial loading, but the memorandum does not establish that any Middle East customer has bought or deployed the system.
For builders and investors, the next concrete milestone is a named regional pilot with measured task performance on a specified robot, followed by evidence of repeatable deployment. Arabic interaction, local workflows, and customer-approved data collection are practical tests of whether the model and toolchain can transfer to new settings. The agreement creates a channel for those tests, while leaving commercial scale unproven.
