Anthropic launches Claude Security tool for enterprises in public beta

Anthropic has released Claude Security, a public beta tool for enterprise customers that scans codebases for vulnerabilities and generates patches. Running on Claude Opus 4.7, the tool—originally named Claude Code Security—has been tested by hundreds of organizations and is now available to all Enterprise customers using Opus 4.7. The release follows the more restricted deployment of Claude Mythos, a powerful cybersecurity model Anthropic offers only to select partners under Project Glasswing. Enterprise partners including Microsoft Security, CrowdStrike, and TrendAI are embedding Opus 4.7 into their tools, while Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, and Infosys help deploy Claude-integrated solutions.

Why it matters: Claude Security exemplifies the hyperscaler-distribution pattern Anthropic is accelerating to win enterprise accounts. By packaging security scanning directly into an existing enterprise subscription—no API integration required—Anthropic reduces friction for adoption while extending the context-engineering moat: Opus 4.7’s ability to find complex vulnerabilities becomes a sticky, hard-to-replicate feature that deepens lock-in. The tiered security strategy (public Claude Security vs. restricted Mythos via Project Glasswing) also reflects a capital-cycle dynamic where Anthropic monetizes safety capabilities into recurring enterprise revenue, contrasting with OpenAI’s broader platform approach.

Grounded expert take: This move updates the player map in segment 01 (foundation models) where Anthropic is increasingly positioning itself as the security-forward lab. The integration with existing partners like Microsoft Security signals a deliberate channel strategy—using partner distribution to expand enterprise footprint without building a separate sales force. By open-sourcing the tool (in beta) with zero integration cost, Anthropic turns cybersecurity from a differentiator into an expected feature for enterprise-grade models, raising the bar for rivals like OpenAI and Google.
