Buildots raises $130M as construction AI platform nears $1 billion valuation
Buildots, founded in 2018, closed a $130 million funding round led by OG Venture Partners, the firm of billionaire Eyal Ofer, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Intel Capital. CEO Roy Danon said the round values the company near $1 billion, bringing total funding raised since founding to $297 million. Buildots' platform compares real-time construction progress against design plans and project schedules, flagging bottlenecks and predicting delays before they compound. Its customer list includes chipmaker Intel, data-center builder Digital Realty, and large US contractors STO Building Group and JE Dunn Construction Co.
The round highlights a specific niche within vertical AI: computer-vision monitoring for the physical build-out of the most capital-intensive infrastructure behind the current AI boom — data centers and chip fabs. As hyperscalers and chipmakers race to add compute capacity, delays in the physical construction of that capacity carry outsized financial risk, creating demand for software that predicts schedule slippage rather than reports it after the fact. Buildots' customer roster ties its growth directly to that AI infrastructure buildout cycle rather than to general construction spend.
For investors, the deal signals that AI-for-physical-construction oversight tools are attracting late-stage capital even outside the model layer, as data-center and fab timelines become a cost worth insuring against. For contractors managing AI-related capital projects, it reinforces that computer-vision progress tracking is moving from pilot programs to standard practice on the highest-stakes builds.
