DeepSeek releases DeepInfer for Nvidia GPUs and Huawei Ascend processors
DeepSeek released DeepInfer, the inference framework behind its large-scale model services, on October 20. The open-source framework supports Nvidia GPUs and Huawei Ascend processors, with distributed inference, speculative decoding and structured output. DeepSeek also released deepseek-recipe, which converts API requests and handles model input and output processing in line with its own service. DeepInfer currently supports DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017; the company says it plans to publish inference code and optimizations for future models through the project.
The release extends DeepSeek's role as a foundation-model supplier into the software used to operate its models. For the AI infrastructure market, the relevant signal is access to production-serving components across two processor families. That could give developers more deployment options, but chip support alone does not establish equal performance or an easy migration between hardware platforms. DeepSeek says the framework is intended to improve throughput and latency while reducing computing costs and energy consumption; the report provides no measurements establishing those gains.
Builders evaluating DeepInfer should test the supported model on their intended hardware and workloads, measuring throughput, latency and total serving cost before adopting it. The accompanying request-processing component also gives teams a concrete integration surface to assess. For investors, the next evidence to watch is whether external deployments reproduce the claimed efficiency benefits: publishing production code makes those claims more testable, but does not itself establish transferable savings.
