Sky Intelligence secures follow-on investment from Oracle-Vector Regional Innovation Venture Fund
South Korea-based Sky Intelligence, a digital twin and synthetic data infrastructure company, has secured additional investment from the Oracle-Vector Regional Innovation Venture Fund, co-managed by Woouptech Investment and Oracle Venture Investment. The follow-on round comes after a Series A from DS Investment Partners and values the company at approximately 100 billion won (~$77M). The investment amount was not disclosed. Sky Intelligence builds manufacturing-focused digital twins on NVIDIA Omniverse and provides industrial synthetic data infrastructure for physical AI training, including simulation-ready datasets for robot validation before real-world deployment. The company recently partnered with Seoul National University AI Institute (AIIS) on robotic vision and grasping research and signed a strategic framework with ABB Robotics.
Why it matters: This deal plugs a small but strategic Korean digital-twin startup into the Oracle capital-distribution network, a variant of the hyperscaler-distribution pattern where infrastructure players seed the ecosystem that consumes their compute. Oracle's fund participation signals that synthetic data infrastructure for physical AI is becoming a recognized investment category, not just a lab-side activity. Sky Intelligence's choice to build on NVIDIA Omniverse also reinforces the silicon substrate lock-in: any company scaling industrial digital twins at this stage is effectively choosing the NVIDIA ecosystem, which deepens the HW+SW moat in physical AI simulation.
Expert take: Sky Intelligence is early enough that the $77M valuation is modest by US standards but meaningful for the Korean industrial AI ecosystem. The Oracle-Vector fund's involvement gives the startup distribution and credibility for manufacturing clients in Asia, especially as physical AI shifts from research to factory-floor deployment. The key risk is whether synthetic data from digital twins can bridge the sim-to-real gap sufficiently to replace costly real-world data collection for industrial robots — an open debate the company is now funded to address. Watch for whether this becomes an acqui-licensing target for a larger industrial automation player like ABB or Siemens down the line.
