A CN embodied-AI/world-model startup nearing Pre-IPO ahead of a Hong Kong Chapter 18C filing opens a new public-market exit path for the robotics foundation-model sub-segment, though the ~$2.8B valuation is below mega-round thresholds.
GigaAI (极佳视界) Nears Pre-IPO Round at RMB 20B (~$2.8B) Valuation Ahead of Hong Kong IPO
Beijing-based embodied-AI and world-model startup GigaAI (极佳视界) has completed a corporate restructuring, converting from a limited liability company to a joint-stock company and renaming itself Beijing GigaAI Vision Technology Co. The company is close to finalizing a Pre-IPO funding round at a pre-money valuation of roughly RMB 20 billion (~$2.8 billion) and plans to submit a listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under Chapter 18C, the specialist-technology-company listing regime. If the listing proceeds, GigaAI would become the first "world model" startup to go public globally.
The move signals that embodied-AI and world-model development — long funded through private mega-rounds inside China's robotics and autonomous-driving supply chains — is now reaching for a public-market exit path. Chapter 18C was designed to let pre-revenue or pre-profit hard-tech companies list in Hong Kong, a channel previously used mostly by biotech and semiconductor firms; extending it to a world-model/general-robotics foundation-model company tests investor appetite for this category at scale and could give other embodied-AI labs a template for converting private valuations into public liquidity.
For builders and investors, the listing timeline and eventual pricing are worth tracking closely: a successful 18C debut would set a public valuation benchmark for embodied foundation-model startups and give later-stage robotics AI companies a concrete comparison point beyond private financing rounds, while a delayed or repriced listing would signal that Hong Kong's public markets remain cautious about pre-revenue world-model bets.
