iFlytek Healthcare expands Spark Medical Model across clinical and patient workflows

iFlytek Healthcare upgraded Spark Medical Model to V3.7 on October 22, extending its speech, imaging and language capabilities. PingWest reports that the model ranked first on MedBench 5.0 with 99.6 points. For doctors, the update includes medical-record drafting and automated imaging reports and quality control; the reported end-to-end generation reasonableness rate for medical records reached 85%. Its patient-facing Xiaoyi application adds multimodal traditional Chinese medicine consultations, dynamic health-record memory and personalized health plans.

The market significance lies in the combination of clinical documentation and continuing patient support. These address different healthcare workflows: helping clinicians produce records and helping patients manage information across consultations. The report cites 1.71 million daily instances of doctor-side AI assistance and 520,000 daily patient-service interactions as inputs to a data feedback loop. Those activity counts indicate reported usage, but do not establish revenue, retention or clinical benefit. Likewise, a medical benchmark lead does not by itself demonstrate reliable performance in clinical deployment.

For builders and investors, the concrete diligence question is whether these capabilities reduce work while preserving clinical quality. The 85% drafting figure needs a defined evaluation method, including how reasonableness was judged and how much clinician correction remained. Buyers should request workflow-level evidence on editing time and report quality before treating the benchmark result as a procurement signal. The article provides no prospective clinical outcomes or commercial metrics to resolve that question.
