INMO raises Series C3 to develop standalone AI glasses and expand distribution
Chinese smart-glasses maker INMO has completed a Series C3 financing led by Sichuan Zhenxing Science and Technology Innovation Fund, with participation from Jing'an Capital and Shibei Hi-Tech. Together with its C1 and C2 financings earlier in 2026, cumulative Series C funding approaches RMB 1 billion; the C3 amount was not disclosed. Proceeds will support next-generation products with spatial intelligence, improvements to INMO AIOS, branding and sales channels. The company also says it has begun preparing for an IPO.
INMO's approach puts the competitive question at the intersection of physical AI interfaces and consumer distribution: can glasses deliver useful AI without depending on a smartphone? Its AIR products emphasize displays and spatial intelligence, while GO emphasizes assistance, translation and text display. INMO AIOS divides processing between device and cloud, keeping latency-sensitive positioning and rendering on the glasses. Rather than developing foundation models, INMO combines existing models for environmental recognition, task management and tool calls. Its differentiation therefore depends on integrating software, optics and power management into a device people will wear.
For investors, the concrete diligence issue is whether demand becomes sustained product use and completed sales. INMO reports revenue growth above 200% over recent years, but the article provides no revenue base or profitability figures. INMO Magic AI, designed with singer Jackson Wang, reportedly attracted 50,000 initial preorders and launched first in North America in July. Those bookings provide an early demand signal; evaluating the standalone-device thesis still requires evidence on battery life, weight, usability and conversion of preorders into delivered sales.
