Medicall Secures Seed Funding to Expand AI Phone Assistant for Dental Clinics
Medicall, the operator of DentalCall, an AI-powered phone assistant for dental clinics, announced on August 14 that it has secured seed funding from AI Angel Club, CNTTech, TaleVentures, and Antler Korea. The company did not disclose the amount. Medicall plans to use the proceeds to enhance its product, expand its sales and partner network, and grow its team.
This funding underscores the growing demand for AI-driven front-office automation in healthcare, particularly in dental practices where phone reception and appointment scheduling are critical yet time-consuming. DentalCall handles 24-hour inbound calls, automating appointment bookings, changes, cancellations, patient inquiries, and consultation summaries. It also supports outbound patient management, including recall reminders, post-treatment satisfaction calls, and return-visit notifications. The company has already secured paying customers in global markets, including a major telecommunications company in Thailand and large healthcare institutions in the Philippines, demonstrating its international viability and localization potential.
For builders, Medicall's approach highlights the value of vertical-specific AI agents that integrate into a larger operational platform. For investors, this seed round signals early traction in the healthcare AI space, particularly in the dental segment, which remains underserved. As healthcare AI investment surges, startups that can demonstrate practical utility and execution capability, as noted by AI Angel Club chairman Sungho Choi, are likely to attract further attention.
