Primero is a newly public enterprise-operations AI entrant with a meaningful regional seed round, but its execution model remains an early validation story.
Primero Raises $12M to Deploy AI Agents Across Latin American Enterprises
Mexican startup Primero has emerged publicly with a $12 million seed round co-led by Kaszek and General Catalyst. The company’s Primia product is designed to connect fragmented legacy systems, capture company-specific processes, and deploy AI agents for complex operational work. Primero says it is already working with SmartFit, Terpel, Verde Valle, and Mexico City’s Economic Development Agency.
The raise targets a persistent enterprise-software gap in Latin America: critical workflows often remain distributed across older systems and undocumented institutional knowledge. Primero is betting that measurable operational returns, rather than generic AI experimentation, will drive adoption among large regional companies. Kaszek brings regional company-building experience and corporate networks, while General Catalyst adds an enterprise software perspective and potential support for expansion beyond Latin America.
For builders, the practical test is whether an agent layer can integrate reliably with real enterprise processes rather than merely summarize information. For investors, Primero’s early customer claims and unusually large regional seed round make implementation depth, security controls, deployment time, and demonstrable ROI the milestones to watch as global cloud providers expand enterprise AI services in Mexico and Brazil.
