Pixeom raises seed from Lifetime Ventures for AI molecular structure analysis
Pixeom, an Oita University spinout building AI tools for molecular structure analysis, announced a seed round backed by Lifetime Ventures. The company’s core technology, PSM (Proximity Score Matrix), converts three-dimensional molecular geometry into numerical representations designed for machine learning, and related techniques are covered by Japanese patent No. 7715333. Pixeom frames the work as chemical visual AI for structure recognition, similarity search, property and activity prediction, and molecular design. Intended buyers include universities, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and drug-discovery startups. Capital will fund AI compute and R&D infrastructure, joint-research prototype validation, molecular-structure analysis environments, and deeper search and analysis features. Joint-research prototype verification is planned for the third quarter of 2026, with analysis-support service packaging under consideration for the first quarter of 2027. The raise size was not disclosed.
In the AI market this is an early drug-discovery tooling story, not a hospital-workflow or clinical-documentation play. The load-bearing claim is representation: how 3D molecular geometry is encoded so models can learn structure–property relationships.
