RayNeo launches iO AI glasses at RMB 1,996 (~$277) with display, memory, and translation features.

RayNeo has introduced its iO series, starting with a 34g pair of AI glasses priced from RMB 1,996 (~$277) at launch and RMB 2,499 list price. The device combines binocular display, a claimed 33-inch equivalent view, 1,800-nit brightness, prescription support from 0 to 1,000 degrees, and a physical control crown with head-gesture controls. It has no camera, but includes four array microphones and a bone-conduction microphone for transcription, translation, and contextual assistance.

The launch pushes consumer AI eyewear beyond camera-led capture toward a display-led, always-worn interface. RayNeo says iO can process up to 24 hours of contextual information, generate daily summaries, recall meeting details, surface real-time prompts, and support 55 languages and 109 accents through Timekettle's BabelOS 3.0. Its initial model options include DeepSeek V4 Pro and Qwen 3.7 Max, with additional models planned. The product's privacy design is central to that proposition: recording and translation indicators are hardware-linked, raw conversation data is anonymized on-device, and users can export or permanently delete history.

For builders, the important constraint is not simply fitting an assistant into a lighter frame; it is delivering useful proactive help without creating an intrusive notification channel or weakening user trust. For investors, the RMB 1,996 entry price sets a practical consumer-market test for whether optical quality, battery life, voice interaction, and privacy controls can convert AI glasses from occasional hardware into a recurring software surface.
