REVCOMM CLOSES ¥3.35B SERIES B FIRST CLOSE, CUMULATIVE FUNDING REACHES ¥8.6B

Tokyo-based RevComm (レブコム) announced the first close of its Series B round at ¥3.35 billion (~$22.5M), comprising equity and debt financing. Lead investors include the SMBC-GB Growth No.1 Investment Limited Partnership, with participation from existing backers WiL, KDDI Open Innovation Fund 3, Shinsei Venture Partners, and Salesforce Ventures. Debt financing came from Fukuoka Bank and the Startup Debt Fund No.2. Cumulative funding now stands at ¥8.6 billion (~$58M).

The round marks a shift to equity funding after a six-year gap; the company had relied on operating cash flow and debt instruments since its Series A in 2020. Proceeds will fuel AI agent deployment, product development across the MiiTel voice analysis suite, international expansion, and R&D for new services. RevComm's proposition — converting enterprise conversational voice data into a structured, actionable asset — sits at the intersection of data infrastructure and AI agents, a sweet spot that major Japanese corporates are increasingly backing.

The funding structure itself is notable: a Japanese bank-led syndicate provides the equity, while regional banks supply the debt component, showing that Japanese financial institutions are becoming more comfortable with AI-native companies that blend recurring revenue with asset-light data platforms. RevComm's focus on voice as the primary communication channel in Japanese enterprise — from sales calls to call centers to retail floor conversations — gives it a defensible data-layer position that is harder for global competitors to replicate given language and cultural specificity. The challenge will be scaling from a Japan-centric data platform into an international AI agent layer while maintaining that local moat.
