At the 2026 World Robot Conference, Galileo (伽利略) unveiled its new humanoid robot, the Galileo X, positioning it as a novel category called 'land-based embodied systems.' Unlike typical iterative releases, Galileo X is an original product developed from scratch, designed to overcome the fragmentation of ground mobile robots. Traditional wheeled AGVs, off-road tracked chassis, and quadruped robots each excel in specific scenarios but fail in composite environments combining indoor tasks, long-distance outdoor travel, and complex terrain. Galileo X claims to integrate high-precision indoor transport, vehicle-level long-range off-road capability, and high-adaptability legged obstacle crossing into a single unit, effectively replacing the need for multiple specialized devices.
