Xiaomi moves MiMo API users to V2.6 with unchanged pricing

Xiaomi discontinued MiMo-V2.5-Pro and MiMo-V2.5 at 10 a.m. Beijing time on October 21. Requests using those model names had been automatically routed to MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash, respectively, since October 14. The Pro replacement adds multimodal understanding for users of the text-only V2.5-Pro. For users moving from V2.5 to V2.6-Flash, the default maximum completion length rises from 32,768 to 131,072 tokens. Xiaomi says the replacements improve capability and performance while retaining the previous generation's API pricing.

The market significance is the migration of an existing foundation-model service to a broader capability baseline. Multimodal understanding becomes part of the replacement path for Pro users, while Flash users receive a fourfold increase in the default output ceiling. Keeping API pricing unchanged strengthens the capability available at the existing price schedule. However, the report provides no independent evaluation of the claimed performance gains or evidence of customer adoption, so this is an incremental service update rather than proof of a competitive ranking change.

Builders using the retired model names should verify which replacement now handles their requests and rerun application evaluations against it. Automatic routing preserves a way to submit requests, but does not establish equivalent responses or application behavior. Teams moving to Flash should also review explicit output limits: a higher default completion ceiling permits longer responses, without establishing that every workload needs them. For investors, the concrete signal is Xiaomi's willingness to replace older API models while holding its pricing schedule steady; the report does not establish the effect on margins.
