MyMusic5 rolls out AI-guided piano beginner course in South Korea before global markets

MyMusic5, the AI-powered music education and sheet-music marketplace app operated by South Korea's MPage, launched a piano beginner learning feature in its home market first. The feature provides simplified, easy-to-play arrangements of highlights from 50 popular songs — including "Flower Dance" and Joe Hisaishi's "Summer" — that are normally too difficult for new players to attempt. It bundles fundamentals training (finger numbering, middle-C hand position) with targeted practice drills for the trickiest measures in each song, plus real-time AI voice feedback synced to the user's playing. The release follows a March update that added real-time note-name display, black-key guidance, and automatic sheet-music page turning, extending the app's reach down to first-time learners.

MyMusic5 already operates at meaningful scale for a music-education app: real-time sound-recognition technology as its core engine, a catalog of more than 600,000 sheet-music pieces populated partly through a creator-upload marketplace, roughly 4 million users, and about 70% of revenue from outside Korea. Shipping a new beginner feature domestically before it presumably reaches that majority-overseas base points to Korea functioning as a testbed for a product whose commercial center of gravity is already international.

For builders, the pairing of live audio recognition with AI-generated correction feedback is a reusable instrument-practice pattern that extends beyond piano, and the creator-supplied sheet-music marketplace shows a content-sourcing model that avoids upfront licensing costs. For investors, a 70%-overseas revenue mix on a product still iterating features at home is a signal worth tracking for follow-on funding or explicit international expansion announcements.
