TakeMe2Space aims to become the AWS of space with orbital AI computing

Hyderabad-based TakeMe2Space is building orbital computing infrastructure that lets companies run AI models and process satellite data directly in orbit, rather than beaming raw data back to Earth. After losing its first satellite in a failed ISRO PSLV mission in January, the startup is preparing for a second launch aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 in October. Founder Ronak Samantray is focused on compute, storage, customer workloads, and infrastructure economics — not rocket tourism or interplanetary colonization.

Why it matters: TakeMe2Space is pioneering a new compute substrate — orbital inference — that could dramatically reduce latency and bandwidth costs for Earth-observation and other satellite-enabled AI workloads. This fits the "compute as a utility" pattern that hyperscalers like AWS established on the ground, now extended to space.
