The article updates the Robotics player map with a new high-valuation unicorn and signals a shift from prototyping to mass-production scaling in the Chinese humanoid cluster.
China's AI² Robotics just secured $145M in Series B funding at a $1.5B valuation, becoming the second humanoid robot unicorn in 48 hours alongside Spirit AI. Founded only in 2023, this Shenzhen startup is scaling production from 1,000 to 10,000 units annually, with a confirmed 3-year order for 1,000 AlphaBot robots from display maker HKC. The funding will advance their GOVLA vision-language-action model for embodied intelligence and support deployments across automotive, semiconductor, and manufacturing sectors. With investors including Baidu for AI capabilities and CRRC for industrial environments, this signals China's aggressive move from prototype to mass production in embodied AI. Industry analysts now predict 2026 for embodied AI will mirror 2023's LLM explosion. China currently controls 90% of the global humanoid robot market.
