Sofia-based DiscreteStack has raised an €800,000 seed round led by CleverPine Ventures, with participation from Milen Manev and Stoil Vasilev. Founded in December 2025 by Hristo Todorov, the company builds local AI deployment infrastructure for open-source large language models. It says its patent-pending software optimizations allow enterprise-scale models to run on a single standalone server, with deployments that can be disconnected from the public internet when required. The funding will support entry into heavily regulated corporate sectors, software-team expansion, and additional high-performance GPU capacity.
The round is a small but relevant addition to the on-premises AI infrastructure market, where data control and operational isolation can outweigh the convenience of cloud-hosted model APIs. DiscreteStack is targeting public institutions, insurers, and banks that need to retain sensitive data within their own environments. Its claimed single-server architecture speaks to a practical enterprise requirement: reducing the operational footprint of locally deployed models while preserving a fully controlled deployment boundary. The company says it has secured enterprise customers across Europe and joined NVIDIA's Inception Program.
For builders, the test is whether local deployment can deliver acceptable model performance, maintenance, and upgrade paths without recreating the complexity of a private AI platform. For investors, DiscreteStack's early customers matter more than the seed size: regulated-sector demand can create durable implementation work, but the company will need to prove that its optimizations remain differentiated as open-source models and enterprise inference stacks evolve.
