Emerald AI updates the AI Infrastructure player map with a focus on the structural constraint of data center power demand (cross.§A), though the $22.7M round does not trigger the cross.§D threshold.
Emerald AI has raised $22.7M in additional funding, bringing total capital to over $65M at a $250M valuation, backed by Nvidia, Google's Jeff Dean, and Salesforce Ventures. The company's Emerald Conductor platform demonstrated a 25% reduction in AI workload power consumption during grid stress events while maintaining performance. This matters because data center power demand is projected to nearly double to 96 GW globally by 2026, with AI consuming over 40% of that capacity, and PJM capacity prices already jumped 10x from $28.92/MW to $329.17/MW. Emerald AI is turning data centers from energy bottlenecks into flexible grid assets that could unlock 100 GW of capacity. The AI race is now fundamentally an energy race.
