FORMAS.AI raises $3.98M pre-seed for AI-native AEC design workspace.
Singapore-based FORMAS.AI has raised $3.98M in an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with participation from UntroD Capital, Hustle Fund, Big Sky Capital, Orvel Ventures, and angel investors. The company is building an AI-native creative design workspace for the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, integrating generative AI directly into design workflows. Since launching public beta in November 2025, users have generated over 500,000 designs across 135 countries.
The funding will be used to expand the team, enhance product development, and scale go-to-market efforts in the US and Europe.
Why it matters: FORMAS.AI exemplifies the verticalization of generative AI into domain-specific creative tools, a recurring pattern seen in segments like legal (Harvey) and coding (Cursor). While the AEC industry has seen AI-assisted design tools before (e.g., Autodesk Forma), FORMAS.AI's AI-native approach from inception distinguishes it from incumbent bolt-on features. The traction indicator—500,000 designs in under six months—suggests strong product-market fit in a sector traditionally slow to adopt AI.
