Hi-Parking Deploys AI-Based Vehicle Flow Control System at Seoul Station Parking Lot

Hi-Parking, the parking infrastructure and operations subsidiary of Humax Mobility (휴맥스모빌리티), has installed its AI-based smart video guidance system, Ai-PAS, at the Seoul Station parking lot. The system uses 360-degree AI cameras to track vehicle location and movement across parking spaces and passageways in real time, feeding footage to an AI server that automatically controls electronic display boards and barriers based on congestion and traffic flow. Ai-PAS routes vehicles to open spaces, reroutes them if a spot is already claimed, and guides departing vehicles to the exit. It also triggers pedestrian- and vehicle-caution alerts, restricts entry via barriers when a floor nears capacity, and flags suspected fires, bottlenecks, parking violations, or collisions to Hi-Parking's operations team via web and mobile app. Hi-Parking says this replaces the blind spots of standard camera guidance and the per-space sensor cost of ultrasonic systems by treating the lot as one data space.

The deployment shows parking infrastructure being repositioned as a data layer for physical AI rather than a passive facility. Hi-Parking frames the real-time vehicle-tracking data as a building block for future vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, where autonomous vehicles and robotaxis exchange location and routing data with the facilities they operate in. That matters because AV and robotaxi operators need structured, sensor-rich environments to navigate indoor and mixed-traffic spaces, and few parking operators currently offer that as a service. A high-traffic transit hub like Seoul Station doubles as both a congestion-management fix today and a proving ground for that future demand.

For builders and investors, the more durable asset may be the accumulating vehicle-movement dataset and V2I interface behind Hi-Parking's stated "Infra(Parking) as a Service" plan, not the guidance system itself. If Hi-Parking standardizes that interface across the additional transit hubs it plans to expand to, it positions itself as a distribution point for robotaxi and AV operators entering Korean cities — a role comparable to how charging networks became infrastructure dependencies for EV rollouts.
