A small team of AWS engineers reportedly rebuilt Amazon Bedrock, the company's managed service for accessing foundation models, after the platform was plagued by bugs and reliability issues in early 2025, according to The Information. The rework addressed core stability problems and repositioned Bedrock as a more credible option for enterprises evaluating managed AI model infrastructure.
Bedrock's reliability has been a persistent point of comparison against Microsoft's Azure AI offerings, which have benefited from tighter enterprise distribution. A more stable Bedrock narrows one of the clearest technical gaps between the two hyperscalers in the race to be the default enterprise on-ramp for managed AI models.
