Mazrica updates AI sales assistant Hana into a conversational lead-qualification tool

Mazrica, a Tokyo-based sales-technology company founded in 2015, has updated Hana, the AI sales assistant built into its Mazrica Engage marketing-agent product. The previous version answered visitor questions on request; the new version proactively asks website visitors about their goals and pain points, surfaces relevant pages or documents in response, and guides qualified visitors toward inquiry forms. Cited adopters include a large logistics-equipment distributor, telecom companies, manufacturing trading firms, and consulting firms. The logistics-equipment customer reported that inquiries generated through the AI chat grew 3.2 times between June and July 2026, and that sales staff now receive a record of what each visitor discussed and which materials they viewed before handoff, rather than a bare notification that an inquiry occurred.

The update reflects a broader shift in website-embedded sales AI: from passive question-answering chat toward proactive need discovery aimed at visitors who don't yet know what to ask. That distinction matters because reactive chatbots cap out at users who can already articulate a request, while much B2B site traffic arrives without one. Compressing discovery, content routing, and form conversion into a single script-embedded assistant lets smaller vendors compete for top-of-funnel work traditionally owned by human sales development reps and larger marketing-automation suites. Per the AI Market Watch index, Mazrica has raised $14.5M since founding โ€” a modest base for a company pushing into that budget category, though the index covers roughly 5,000 companies rather than the full market.

For enterprise buyers, the real test is whether the added handoff context improves sales follow-up rather than just appending chat transcripts to a CRM record. For investors, this is a feature release, not a capital event, and the 3.2x figure โ€” drawn from one customer's two-month window โ€” needs longer tracking before it reads as a category-level result rather than one account's early lift.
