Meta expands its Muse AI agent to smart glasses, unveiling a lineup of more than 100 device options ahead of a December pendant launch.

At its Meta Connect 2026 event on September 23, Meta extended Muse, the personal AI agent it introduced this month for smartphones and desktop, to AI glasses. Wearers can ask about sports scores or nearby information and get real-time conversation translation without pulling out a phone, with habit- and schedule-management support planned for later. Alongside Muse, Meta introduced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first audio-only glasses (43g, up to 12 hours of battery plus 48 hours via the charging case, with prescription-lens support), the thinner Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 with a dedicated Meta AI action button, a 12MP camera, and a six-microphone array cutting ambient noise more than 90%. Meta also expanded the Ray-Ban Meta Display's features and sales regions and unveiled a strap-free, roughly 100g Meta VR Glasses line certified for IMAX Enhanced playback. Combining Ray-Ban, Oakley, and its own frames, Meta says it will offer over 100 glasses options by year-end, alongside a Muse Charm pendant set for a December launch.

The announcement turns Muse from a phone-and-desktop chat app into an agent meant to run continuously across audio, camera, display, and VR form factors rather than a single hardware bet. It is also the fastest-moving thread in a run of Muse news this month, including an App Store No. 2 debut and a WhatsApp/Stripe checkout launch; per the AI Market Watch index, Meta-linked stories in our pipeline nearly doubled over the past 90 days (128 items versus 78 in the prior period, name-matched across pipeline-ingested sources only), consistent with a company pushing an agent across every distribution surface it controls at once.

For builders, Meta's glasses-first push signals that consumer AI agent distribution is shifting away from single-app competition toward owning the physical interface — a pressure point for any assistant tied to a phone screen. For investors, the number to watch isn't the SKU count but attach and retention on the glasses themselves: Meta is spreading Muse across dozens of price points and styles before proving any one of them sustains daily use beyond a launch-week download spike.
