NAVER Cloud and FPT plan joint AI factory business and APAC GPU services
The AMW Read
The MOU incrementally expands regional infrastructure cooperation and targets GPU supply and customer access, but undisclosed capacity, investment, and contracts limit its demonstrated impact.
NAVER Cloud and FPT plan joint AI factory business and APAC GPU services
NAVER Cloud and Vietnam's FPT signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint AI factory planning, development, and operations, alongside GPU-as-a-service expansion across South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The partnership would connect their GPU infrastructure, cloud technology, business capabilities, and customer networks. They plan to serve enterprises and AI service providers needing large-scale training and inference resources, with infrastructure, models, and AI services that reduce the need to build dedicated systems.
The market significance lies in regional compute delivery: the companies intend to jointly identify demand in locations that either would struggle to serve alone. That puts customer access and implementation capacity alongside GPU availability as competitive factors in AI infrastructure. Their proposed technical exchange program would bring together NAVER Cloud's Vietnam development center, headquarters staff, and FPT engineers to work on GPU optimization, inference performance, and production environments for AI agents. The announcement establishes a cooperation framework; it does not disclose investment amounts, GPU capacity, pricing, or an operating timetable.
For builders evaluating these services, the concrete next step is to request region-specific capacity, pricing, and deployment support before making infrastructure commitments. For investors, the useful evidence will be whether the partners convert their combined customer networks and engineering resources into contracted workloads. The MOU alone does not establish utilization or commercial returns.
