Toyo Technica (東陽テクニカ) has begun offering a new Ultra Ethernet Transport (UET) verification solution as an add-on to the VIAVI TestCenter series, a network performance tester. The solution emulates AI workload traffic at scale without requiring GPUs, supporting development and evaluation of next-generation AI data center networks for hyperscalers, cloud and neocloud providers, and network equipment manufacturers. Key features include faithful reproduction of the UET transport layer—Reliable Ordered Delivery, Packet Trimming, Congestion Control, and Dynamic Multipathing—plus emulation of Collective Communications and LLM traffic flows, and evaluation of ECMP, Packet Spraying, and Flowlet Switching load balancing.
The move addresses a structural pain point in the AI infrastructure buildout: as AI clusters scale toward millions of endpoints, verifying network performance using physical GPUs becomes prohibitively expensive and impractical.
