The acquisition updates the robotics player map and exemplifies the shift toward software-hardware convergence, while the addition of industry-heavy talent (OpenCV founder) triggers a talent dynamics signal.
Bonsai Robotics has acquired farm-ng, merging its GPS-free vision-based AI autonomy with modular electric farm robots to create integrated AI-first machines. The deal brought in heavy talent including Gary Bradski (OpenCV founder) as CSO and John Teeple (former John Deere tech director) as COO. Within months, the combined company already revealed the Amiga Flex platform at FIRA USA 2025, trained on over 750,000 acres, and landed partnerships with Carbon Robotics and WEED-IT β signaling that software-hardware convergence is accelerating the shift from iron to intelligence in agriculture.
