Wrtn's unicorn valuation and reported overseas consumer-AI revenue traction materially update the agent-platform player map, though the round is below the threshold for a cross-market capital tag.
Wrtn Raises KRW 100 Billion Series C at KRW 1 Trillion-Plus Valuation
Wrtn Technologies has raised KRW 100 billion, about $70 million, in a Series C round that values the South Korean AI service-platform company at more than KRW 1 trillion. New investors Coreline Ventures and Eugene Asset Management joined existing backers including Goodwater Capital, Antler Global, Woori Venture Partners, Suigenesis Partners, Korea Development Bank, and Capstone Partners. The round brings Wrtn's cumulative funding to roughly KRW 230 billion.
The financing tests whether consumer AI companies can translate high engagement into durable international revenue rather than remain local chatbot products. Wrtn said OOC, its AI entertainment-content platform launched in North America in May, surpassed KRW 10 billion in monthly revenue within three months. The company said overseas revenue has exceeded domestic revenue and forecast more than KRW 200 billion in 2026 revenue, compared with KRW 47.1 billion last year. Per the AI Market Watch index, Wrtn is tracked in the AI Agents category with about $104-106 million in total funding, although the index covers roughly 5,000 companies rather than the full market.
For builders and investors, the important question is whether rapid entertainment monetization can persist as Wrtn expands across Korea, Japan, and the United States. The company is also formalizing consumer-safety governance: it formed a user committee in July, is participating in Korean self-regulatory guidance for AI character chatbots, and is considering time, parental-consent, and spending controls for younger users of its Crack platform.
