Antioch, which builds simulation infrastructure for physical AI, raised a $32 million Series A led by Greylock, with A*, Category Ventures, Box Group, and Icehouse Ventures participating. Combined with an $8.5 million seed, cumulative funding reaches $40.5 million. Named angels include Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar, Foxglove CEO Adrian Macneil, and NVIDIA executive Ian Andrews. The company will put capital into product development, engineering headcount, and stronger simulation features.

Physical AI still depends on hardware-in-the-loop rigs because each design change needs real-device validation, consuming time, equipment, and scarce engineers. Co-founders say prior simulators stayed marginal because of low fidelity, weak scale, and fragmented tools. Antioch’s platform continuously calibrates a customer-specific twin—hardware, sensors, software, models, environments, and constraints—so teams assemble scenarios locally, then run reproducible tests in the cloud at thousands of parallel cases, including CI/CD gates that extend software-style release testing to embodied systems. Target surfaces include aerial autonomy, ground autonomy, industrial automation, and perception evaluation plus synthetic data, with integration into NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, and Isaac Lab.

For builders and investors, the raise concentrates capital on the simulation-and-eval choke point under robotics rather than only on robot hardware. The practical test is whether buyers treat calibrated, CI-integrated sim as a release requirement; if they do, vendors that absorb customer hardware twins atop NVIDIA’s open physical-AI stack will outcompete one-off demo environments. Per the AI Market Watch index, which tracks about 5,000 companies rather than a full census, the news pipeline logged zero Antioch matches in the last 90 days versus two in the prior window—so this Series A reopens visibility on a quiet embodied-AI name.
