Baidu Launches KuKu AI Office Agent Brand as Monthly Users Pass 25 Million
Baidu has introduced KuKu AI, the Chinese brand for its Baidu Wenku and Baidu Netdisk general-purpose agent, at its AI Day event. The company said its AI office products now exceed 25 million monthly active users. KuKu AI is available through a web interface, PC client, and mini-program, alongside a new enterprise edition. Its initial office mode is optimized for finance, with access to listed-company materials, market prices, financial statements, and research reports.
The launch turns Baidu's document, cloud-storage, and knowledge assets into a more explicit agentic work surface. KuKu AI can continue tasks across devices and handle natural-language requests spanning research, analysis, report drafting, meeting notes, and multimedia production. Baidu says the product can draw on 1.8 billion Wenku documents, 700 million Baidu Academic items, and Netdisk data; for enterprises, it combines public content with internal knowledge under unified governance, identity verification, and knowledge-asset auditing. This extends Baidu's recent effort to convert its model and cloud capabilities into revenue-bearing enterprise workflows.
For builders, the notable requirement is not a single chat interface but a governed workflow that can retrieve specialized data, execute multi-step tasks, and preserve context across devices. For investors, KuKu AI's reported user base makes adoption quality the key question: whether a broad office audience converts into recurring enterprise usage in regulated, data-sensitive functions such as financial research and reporting.
