Bharat1.AI advances Bengaluru physical AI testbed, plans 70-acre expansion

Bharat1.AI is bringing its Bengaluru AI Superpark into operation while planning a larger physical AI testbed. Its 500,000-square-foot facility at RGA Tech Park has an operational second floor, with engineers testing robotic AI models. A second phase near Agara Lake would cover 70 acres and is expected to open by 2029. The company is seeking $650 million through equity and debt to support the wider project; the report does not describe completed financing.

The project puts shared research infrastructure at the center of physical AI development, where robots and sensors interact with real environments. Bharat1.AI's proposed city would combine around 2,500 cameras, 800 radars and more than 6,000 robots. These systems are expected to generate about one exabyte of data annually for model development. Its roughly 15 foundational partners include NVIDIA, Neysa, IIT Kanpur, BITS Pilani and IISc's SPARC. The market question is whether shared facilities, compute and data can support useful robotics development. The site's proposed scale alone does not establish that outcome.

For builders and investors, the concrete diligence task is to separate usable test capacity from planned capacity. The operational floor and ongoing robotic-model tests provide a starting point. The larger city's researcher accommodation, workplaces and sensor network remain plans. Investors evaluating the $650 million financing effort should assess which facilities are ready for outside teams and what testing results they produce. Builders should examine access terms and available equipment before treating the proposed city as a development resource.
