Blue Prism brings WorkHQ orchestration platform to Japan
SS&C Blue Prism released the Japanese-language version of WorkHQ on October 7, 2026, bringing its platform for coordinating AI agents, robotic process automation and human workers to Japan. The launch targets businesses struggling to embed AI into operating processes and connect work across separate systems. Blue Prism says the platform incorporates experience from parent company SS&C's business process outsourcing operations, including financial services and healthcare.
The market significance is the role established automation vendors can play in enterprise agent deployment: connecting AI decisions to existing systems while retaining human exception handling and audit trails. Blue Prism is positioning orchestration and governance as the bridge between individual AI use and completed business workflows. SS&C reports that more than 3,500 AI agents and RPA automations operate in production, generating annual cost savings exceeding 30 billion yen. These are parent-company operating claims, rather than evidence of equivalent returns for Japanese WorkHQ customers.
For enterprise builders and investors evaluating agent platforms, the concrete test is whether this operating experience transfers to customer workflows. In an internal trade-discrepancy reconciliation example, SS&C reports reducing processing time from 82 minutes to five by combining AI judgment, RPA system execution, human handling of exceptions and audit tracing throughout the process. Buyers should evaluate comparable workflows against their own completion times, exception rates and integration costs; that would help establish whether orchestration produces repeatable gains beyond an internal deployment.
