Nvidia is making OpenShell generally available and introducing Sentry under its Open Agent Safety Platform. OpenShell isolates agents as they perform tasks and applies security controls to their activity. Sentry is designed to monitor long-running agents from a separate security domain and quarantine those that cross defined boundaries. Nvidia says Sentry is intended to run on its BlueField data processing units. Salesforce, Scale AI, and SAP confirmed some degree of OpenShell integration, though the extent of adoption across Nvidia's wider partner list remains unclear.
The launch puts Nvidia deeper into the agent execution layer, where access controls and containment become more consequential as agents take actions across systems. Reports of agent safety incidents give the effort urgency, but a broad collaboration list does not establish that partners have deployed the same controls.
