FiveX launches celebrity IP fashion platform with Ha Ji-won's first curated collection
Busan-based AI startup FiveX, incubated by the Busan Center for Creative Economy Innovation, has unveiled its inaugural fashion collection in partnership with actress and artist Ha Ji-won. The FIXE × Ha Ji-won line offers 150 limited-edition pieces worldwide, featuring embroidery details derived from the actress's original artwork sketches. The company positions this as wearable art, distinguishing it from typical celebrity merchandise by involving the artist directly in the planning and design process.
The launch represents FiveX's first major market test for its fashion collaboration platform, which aims to help artists, celebrities, brands, and cultural IP owners develop their own fashion collections. FiveX secured 150 million won in seed funding from the Busan Center for Creative Economy Innovation earlier this year. The company is building out its proprietary FIXE platform with NFC-based authenticity verification and AI-driven fan curation features, signaling a blend of physical fashion products with digital authentication and personalized recommendation technology.
For builders and investors in the AI-powered creator economy, FiveX demonstrates a concrete application of AI in the intersection of fashion, art, and celebrity IP monetization. The platform's approach to combining NFC authentication with AI fan curation suggests a model where AI serves as a tool for personalization and trust in physical goods markets, rather than purely digital applications. The limited-drop strategy of 150 pieces per collection tests whether AI-enhanced curation can drive premium pricing and brand loyalty in the competitive K-fashion and celebrity merchandise space.
