CoreWeave's first India deployment meaningfully expands its infrastructure footprint, while the 240 MW buildout has segment-level implications that depend on commissioning and customer uptake.
CoreWeave plans 240 MW India campus with AdaniConneX, targeting mid-2028 operations
CoreWeave plans its first India deployment at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai, with initial operations targeted for mid-2028. The announcement describes three planned 80 MW buildings, with CoreWeave as sole tenant, and an option to expand the campus to 480 MW. CoreWeave plans to deploy NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform for training, inference, reasoning, and AI agent workloads, while establishing an Indian office and hiring locally. Capacity is expected to arrive in phases; the first phase's size was not disclosed.
The move extends the specialist AI cloud model into a market where Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and domestic infrastructure providers are also competing. AdaniConneX provides a local infrastructure partner, while CoreWeave plans to supply the computing environment inside the facilities. The competitive test is whether that combination can convert planned electrical capacity into reliable, commercially available compute. The 240 MW commitment establishes a development footprint, but it does not establish installed GPU capacity, customer demand, or utilization.
Builders evaluating an India deployment should distinguish the campus total from the capacity available at launch. Investors should watch for the first phase's commissioning schedule, power arrangements, accelerator installations, and customer commitments. The announcement supplies no customer names, utilization commitments, detailed power arrangements, or Vera Rubin system count. Those disclosures would help assess how much of the planned footprint can become revenue-producing infrastructure and how quickly.
