Cygrid raises €2.66M pre-seed to police human, software, and AI agent identities

A small pre-seed entrant adds to the agent governance and access-control layer, a known need as agents reach production; early traction is real but too small to shift the segment.
Cygrid raises €2.66M pre-seed to police human, software, and AI agent identities
Berlin-based Cygrid has come out of stealth with a €2.66 million pre-seed round. It is building a platform that continuously checks and controls the actions taken by three kinds of identity: human users, software services, and AI agents. Its stated goal is to stop agents from reaching confidential company data. Cygrid says it works with 19 design partners and has six deployments in production. It will use the funding to expand the platform and grow across Europe.
The pitch targets a gap that widens as enterprises move agents from pilots into real workflows. An agent that calls tools, queries internal systems, and acts across applications needs credentials and permissions. Most access-control systems were built to grant those up front, not to evaluate each action as it happens. Cygrid treats agents as one more identity class under the same continuous authorization as people and service accounts. That framing places it in the agent governance and control layer, not in agent building. This layer is filling up as buyers ask how agent autonomy can be squared with data-protection duties. A European base adds weight, since data-handling expectations there tend to be strict. Six production deployments is a small but real signal for a pre-seed company.
For builders shipping agents into enterprises, per-action authorization and audit are becoming part of what buyers expect during procurement. Teams that design agent permissions to be narrow and inspectable will find these controls easier to plug into. For investors, the open question is whether standalone agent-access startups can keep their footing as large identity and security vendors extend their own controls to cover agents. Cygrid's design-partner-to-production conversion rate is the metric to watch.
