Cymphony raises $30M Series A to visualize and audit AI agent access permissions

Cymphony raises $30M Series A to visualize and audit AI agent access permissions

Cymphony announced it has secured $30 million to launch an enterprise security product focused on AI agents' access, data, and identity. Sequoia Capital and the SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, LP — a vehicle jointly established by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Fin Capital — led the round. Sequoia had previously led the company's seed; this Series A was co-led. Proceeds will accelerate product development and expand engineering and go-to-market teams.

As companies put autonomous agents onto tools and data stores, security teams face a new identity surface: not only employees, but agents, machines, and files with overlapping permissions. Cymphony's core offering, the Workforce Graph, unifies identity, data, activity, and access rights into a single graph so teams can see which AI apps are in use, what data they expose, which files are overshared, and where human and machine identities are over-privileged — then remediate. That sits squarely in the production gap between agent demos and deployable enterprise systems, where access auditability is becoming a procurement gate.

For builders and investors, the signal is that agent adoption is pulling budget into identity-and-access control purpose-built for non-human actors, not just another SIEM bolt-on. Watch whether Workforce Graph-style models become a required control plane beside agent orchestration platforms, and whether banks and traditional IAM incumbents respond with partner funds or build-vs-buy moves of their own.
