Day1 Company acquires SpaceY, launches DAY1 AI Deployment Company, hires ~100
South Korean adult-education firm Day1 Company (데이원컴퍼니) is entering enterprise AI transformation (AX), launching DAY1 AI Deployment Company after acquiring SpaceY (스페이스와이), an enterprise AX specialist. The unit will hire about 100 specialists via open recruitment. The offer spans AX diagnostics and strategy, training and change management, AI system build, on-site application, and operations and expansion—aimed at tying adoption to workplace results. SpaceY contributes Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) capacity and AI agent-based AX execution; Day1 is combining that with its AI education and talent-development base. Roles include AX strategy, education and change management, AI tech build, industry AX, on-site application, and FDEs. Hiring details are on ai-deployment.day1company.co.kr. CAIO Kang-min Lee said the firm will extend a decade of tech-in-education work into practical enterprise AI conversion. Once scale and independence are sufficient, Day1 may spin the unit into a separate legal entity.
Why it matters sits in AI Agents (02) and the enterprise-ops edge of vertical AI: this is a player-map update (02.§2) in which a domestic education incumbent buys FDE-plus-agent execution rather than training frontier models. It exemplifies the Palantir-style forward-deployed pattern applied to Korean AX—on-site engineers defining problems and wiring agent systems into real workflows—speaking to Frame 1 (enterprise-agent bull: value proven through deployment) more than pure product benchmarks.
For builders and investors, watch whether education-plus-FDE hybrids can win Korean enterprise AX seats against pure agent startups and global consultancies, and whether the planned carve-out becomes a dedicated AX services platform or stays a talent-heavy services line inside Day1.
