Humanos raises $3.2 million to score risk for AI agent insurance
Lisbon-based Humanos has raised $3.2 million in seed funding in a round led by Anthemis. The company develops live risk scores for AI agents, drawing on their identity, permissions and behavior. Its goal is to give insurers and other financial providers evidence they can use when assessing agents. The available reporting does not establish that Humanos itself underwrites insurance policies or that an insurer has adopted its scores.
The raise puts a specific problem in focus as AI agents move from producing answers to taking actions: a risk assessment can become outdated when an agent gains new permissions or behaves differently. Humanos is pursuing a continuously updated record of what an agent is authorized to do and what it has done. That could help a provider distinguish between agents with different levels of access and different histories, but the funding announcement alone does not show whether the scores predict losses or improve underwriting decisions.
For builders, the practical implication is to preserve clear records of agent identity, permissions, approvals and actions if an outside party may later need to assess risk. For investors, the question is whether providers will use these records in real insurance decisions, rather than merely evaluating the technology. Evidence of insurer use and measurable risk outcomes would say more about the market than the size of this seed round.
