Kleon and Samsung Life unveil an AI roleplay tool for customer-service training.
South Korean digital-human company Kleon will unveil an AI customer-roleplay training tool co-developed with Samsung Life on September 9-10 at the "Try Everything 2026" event at Seoul's DDP, shown at the Samsung Financial Networks booth. The AI plays the customer in live, unscripted conversations, varying its answers and asking follow-up questions based on a trainee's explanation rather than reading fixed scripts, and pairing generated speech with context-driven facial expressions, eye gaze, and gestures. Kleon calls this "conversational interactive AI." The system logs each session's dialogue and evaluation data to flag where a trainee struggles, feeding that into coaching. The tool was designated an Innovative Financial Service in Korea this year; the partnership traces to 2022, when Kleon won top honors in Samsung Life's C-Lab Outside program, and Samsung Venture Investment led its 2023 Series A.
The move tests a harder claim than most avatar demos: that an expressive, dynamically responding synthetic counterpart can be embedded inside a regulated insurer's actual training pipeline and earn a formal financial-services designation, not just impress in a pitch. For the insurer, the appeal is measurable โ structured conversation and evaluation data from every session, replacing after-the-fact satisfaction surveys or a manager's impression as the record of how a rep performs under pressure.
The durable asset is the accumulating transcript and scoring corpus, not the avatar rendering itself, and it compounds as more enterprises adopt the format. Kleon, reportedly also preparing a public listing with KB Securities as lead underwriter, says it plans to extend the same roleplay approach beyond finance into education, retail, customer service, and entertainment โ each vertical will need its own compliance framing before the data advantage repeats.
