Megazone Cloud and Finger Sign Strategic Partnership for Financial-Sector AI Transformation
South Korean cloud and AI services company Megazone Cloud and fintech firm Finger signed a strategic partnership on August 21 at Finger's Seoul office, agreeing to jointly pursue AI transformation (AX) projects for financial institutions. Each company will invest 30 billion won (~$21.6M) to back the deal, with plans to co-develop AI solutions specialized for financial operations, run integrated infrastructure and application services, and package offerings as a subscription model. The partnership was proposed by Finger as regulatory easing accelerates AI adoption demand among Korean banks, securities firms and card issuers.
The deal pairs infrastructure and domain expertise that Korean financial institutions increasingly need together rather than separately. Megazone Cloud positions itself as an enterprise AI orchestrator, with roughly 2,000 AI and cloud specialists serving over 8,000 clients through partnerships with major cloud providers and more than 200 independent software vendors. Finger has built financial IT systems since deploying Korea's first smart banking platform in 2010, later delivering mobile banking, open banking and non-face-to-face channels for major banks, securities firms and card companies โ giving it regulatory and workflow knowledge Megazone Cloud lacks on its own.
Both companies plan to use the partnership to pursue overseas financial clients, where network-separation rules that constrain Korean banks don't apply, allowing faster public-cloud deployment of non-face-to-face banking systems. Megazone Cloud's footprint across ten countries combined with Finger's financial application-building experience could open contracts with non-Korean banks. Finger also signaled a move into physical AI โ robotics and autonomous systems โ building on its data-processing and security capabilities. For builders and investors, the deal is a marker that regulated-industry AI transformation in Korea is shifting toward joint infrastructure-plus-domain-specialist bids rather than single-vendor contracts.
