Instinct raises $250M Series B at a $2.5B valuation for its personal AI agent.

Instinct, operated by Spear Street Technology and led by founder Noah Shinn, said it raised $250 million in a Series B co-led by Index Ventures and Benchmark. The financing brings its total funding to $350 million and values the private-beta company at $2.5 billion. Instinct connects with users' apps and devices, then communicates through texts and calls to help organize tasks such as travel planning, grocery purchases, ticket buying, subscription cancellations, and wedding planning.

The round is a major capital commitment to the personal-agent proposition: software that moves beyond answering questions to coordinating across a user's digital services. That ambition depends on broad permissions and reliable execution across apps, making user trust as important as the agent interface itself. Instinct's early attention has already been accompanied by concerns about its permissions and terms of use, underscoring the tension between an agent's usefulness and the degree of access required to act on a user's behalf.

For builders, the signal is that personal-agent products will be judged on practical task completion, not just conversational quality; integrations, clear consent, and predictable controls are core product work. For investors, Instinct's valuation establishes a high benchmark before broad public availability, so evidence of durable use, safe handling of connected accounts, and repeatable acquisition will matter more than anecdotal examples of successful tasks.
