Instinct Gives Its AI Agents Dedicated Email Addresses for Account Tasks

Instinct has launched dedicated email addresses for its AI agents, allowing them to create accounts, contact businesses, receive forwarded confirmations, follow group threads, and carry out follow-up work with less user intervention. Founder Noah Shinn said the addresses are intended to let agents manage task-specific accounts without filling users’ personal inboxes. The feature follows Instinct’s recent 1Password partnership for account logins, location-sharing capability, and Stripe integration for payments and bookings.

The launch moves Instinct closer to an agent that can operate across the everyday coordination layer of the internet: identity, inboxes, account creation, customer support, reservations, and purchases. Email is a practical bridge between disconnected services, but it also makes the agent’s identity and authority more consequential. Businesses may have less visibility into whether they are interacting with a customer directly or an automated representative, while users gain a way to delegate repetitive account-bound work without exposing their primary email address at every step.

For builders, the implication is that reliable agent products will need more than strong task execution: they need clear permission boundaries, escalation points for user decisions, and an auditable record of what the agent did through its own identity. For investors, Instinct’s product cadence extends the thesis behind its August $250M Series B at a $2.5B valuation: the company is attempting to turn a personal assistant from a chat interface into an operational layer spanning credentials, communications, location, and payments. The key test is whether users trust that layer with enough real-world tasks to make delegation habitual rather than occasional.
