Ramp raises $1.85B as AI spend management expands its finance platform
Ramp raised $1.85 billion at a $60 billion valuation, four months after securing $750 million at $44 billion. Dragoneer Investment Group, Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, Sands Capital and Avenir Growth co-led the financing. Ramp says annualized revenue has exceeded $2 billion, compared with a reported $1.5 billion in June, while its customer count reached 85,000 from 70,000. Those figures cover the broader business; the report does not disclose revenue attributable to AI products.
The AI-market significance is the expansion of a finance platform into how enterprises purchase, route and account for model usage. Ramp embeds agents across procurement, expenses, accounting and budgeting, and has introduced a corporate card for agents. Its model-routing service adds token monitoring and spend management, while the recently launched Glass workspace stores employee-built automations, prompts and skills for reuse. Together, these products put Ramp at the intersection of financial operations and enterprise AI purchasing. The mega-round supplies capital for that expansion, but does not establish that token management or shared automations already generate material revenue.
For builders selling AI routing or spend tools, Ramp presents a distribution challenge: existing finance relationships could give buyers a reason to consolidate purchasing and usage controls within one platform. Investors should distinguish growth in the overall finance business from adoption of these newer AI products. The concrete diligence question is whether routing, token controls and Glass win incremental budgets or mainly strengthen retention across Ramp's existing offerings. Reported company-wide revenue growth alone cannot answer that question.
