RealWorld advances deployment-first strategy for robot dexterity, expands CJ Logistics pilot
RealWorld (RLWRLD), a Seoul-based physical AI company, presented its "deployment-first" strategy at the inaugural Humanoid Summit Seoul, held September 22-23 at COEX. CEO Ryu Jung-hee and CSO Ahn Ji-yoon described training robot manipulation skills directly in industrial sites rather than labs, arguing that field deployment generates operational data that improves dexterity models, which then supports further deployment. RealWorld is building a Robotics Foundation Model (RFM) intended to transfer across different robot hardware and tasks rather than being tuned to one. Its current model, RLDX-1, powers a five-finger robotic hand shown at the summit. The company also confirmed it has expanded a physical AI collaboration with CJ Logistics (CJ대한통운), Korea's largest logistics operator, entering a proof-of-concept integrating robotic hands and sensors, on-site data training, and model fine-tuning for warehouse tasks, with overseas logistics markets under consideration pending results.
The announcement sharpens a live question in industrial robotics: whether general-purpose manipulation models can be trained faster and cheaper from real deployment data than from lab or simulation pipelines. RealWorld is positioning field dexterity data, not model scale, as its moat. The summit's first Seoul edition drew Nvidia, Qualcomm, AWS, Unitree, Robotis, and Bear Robotics, signaling Korea's push into the physical AI conference and partnership circuit. Per the AI Market Watch index, RealWorld has appeared in tracked coverage twice in the past 90 days versus once before — coverage limited to name-matched, pipeline-ingested sources — consistent with a shift from lab claims to customer-facing proof points.
For builders and investors, the CJ Logistics PoC — staged from hardware integration to fine-tuning to a market-expansion decision — is a more falsifiable signal than a model announcement alone, and its outcome will show whether deployment-first data collection scales past one flagship customer.
