Tencent expands WorkBuddy enterprise features and previews Hy4
Tencent introduced enterprise features for its WorkBuddy productivity agent at its October 29 digital ecosystem summit and previewed the Hy4 and Hy4 Flash models. WorkBuddy connects to messaging apps and enterprise systems, lets customers select models for specific tasks, and includes security features. Tencent also said Buddy One can coordinate work across its office applications and specialized business agents in China. Hy4 and Hy4 Flash are awaiting formal release; Tencent said both will understand visual information, with Flash designed for greater cost efficiency.
The announcement extends Tencent's effort to combine agents, models, and cloud infrastructure in enterprise workflows. Tencent said WorkBuddy has handled more than 9 billion task requests since its March launch and has been adopted by half of China's top 500 companies. Those are company-reported activity and adoption figures; they do not establish how frequently employees use the product or whether deployments deliver savings. The enterprise controls and Buddy One also build on Tencent's earlier WorkBuddy announcement.
For builders and investors, a key question is whether integration and model choice translate into reliable workflows across existing systems. Tencent's TokenHub gives enterprises a single platform to access Hy and third-party models and manage permissions, usage, governance, and billing. Its international offering also includes CodeBuddy, an agent development platform, and Agent Runtime. Buyers can assess that package against their requirements for model costs, system integration, and operational control once the announced models are available.
