Crusoe strikes compute supply deal with Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab
Crusoe, the AI cloud infrastructure provider, has agreed to supply compute capacity to Thinking Machines Lab, the frontier AI startup founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, according to The Information. The deal gives Thinking Machines Lab dedicated GPU capacity for model training, part of what the report describes as an ongoing scramble among AI labs to lock down training compute.
The deal extends a run of high-profile commitments for Crusoe. In early September it signed a roughly $13 billion, five-year cloud contract with trading firm Jane Street, then closed a $3.9 billion Series F at a $30.9 billion valuation to fund mega campuses and modular Spark AI factories. Crusoe has generated three tracked news items in the last 90 days, versus zero in the prior 90, per the AI Market Watch index (name-matched over pipeline-ingested sources only) β a marker of how quickly its deal flow has accelerated. Adding a frontier-lab customer alongside a financial-sector anchor tenant suggests Crusoe is diversifying beyond any single buyer type as it converts fresh capital into signed capacity.
For builders and investors, the deal underscores that newer frontier labs increasingly source GPU capacity from neoclouds rather than waiting on hyperscaler allocation, and that Crusoe's recent capital raise is translating into customer wins across both financial-services and model-training buyers within weeks.
