SpaceX has completed its $60 billion acquisition of AI coding startup Cursor, according to an announcement made by Cursor on X (formerly Twitter) and confirmed by filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The deal, which was first structured as a partnership with an acquisition option in April, was exercised in June and received final regulatory approval. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, welcomed the move, and the Cursor team will join SpaceX's AI division, SpaceXAI, to work on improving Grok, Grok Build, Grok Bot, and Grok API, alongside existing Cursor products.
